The Commercial EPC has information on how energy efficient the commercial building is and provides ratings from a top rating of A down to a low rating of G.

A Commercial EPC is produce using standard methods and assumptions about energy usage so that the energy efficiency of one building can easily be compared with another building of the same kind. This allows prospective buyers, would be tennants or other occupiers the access to information on the energy efficiency and carbon emissions from their building so they are aware of the energy efficiency which will help them understand potential costs (such as heating) needed for the building.

A A Commercial EPC is always accompanied by a recommendation report that lists cost effective and other measures (such as low and zero carbon generating systems) to improve the energy rating for the building. Each recommendation is assessed against the potential impact over three payback periods in addition to other measures based on an understanding of the building and indicates whether the impact is High, Medium or Low.
